Donaldson Torit
Puts the Finishing Touches on Dura-Life.
Dura-Life™ filter bags – only from Donaldson Torit – are now available for even more demanding applications and processing situations. In addition to providing 30% lower emissions and 2-3 times more bag life than standard polyester, Dura-Life bags can also be specified with Nomex and Oleophobic finishes.
Nomex* Finish
Nomex is the media used to solve problems of high temperature excursions, where polyester becomes brittle and fails. It has good dimensional stability and excellent heat resistance.
Nomex can be used at running temperatures up to 400° F or 200° C (at which point many other fibers melt). Unlike glass it is resistant to fluorides and has excellent abrasion and flex resistance. It has a wide range of applications in the cement industry, non-ferrous metals and steel industries, and carbon black applications.
Oleophobic Finish
Oleophobic is a fluorocarbon Teflon* treatment which provides excellent dust cake release. This is a low cost alternative to membrane technology when enhanced dust release is the only requirement. It causes water to be repelled and prevents moisture from being absorbed into the fibers. This is particularly useful on hygroscopic dust such as sugar, whey, soda ash, and others.
